Defect Tracking

Census is a sophisticated and easy-to-use Defect Tracking System. An intuitive graphical interface gives you quick access to predefined queries, reports, and more. Tailoring Census to the way you work is easy with Census' point-and-click editors that let you define custom queries, reports, and more.

Whether you need to zero in on a specific part of your project, or look at the complete picture, Census gives you the information you need.

Census Defect Tracker Reports

. . . and Much More

Census' powerful capabilities can be adapted to any organization's needs whether for defect tracking or for tracking other types of information - enhancement requests, notes, tasks, support calls and much more.

Microsoft Access

Census is built using Microsoft Access - the leading client/server development tool for creating everything from information systems to sophisticated transaction-processing applications for the Windows platform.

So what does this mean for you? It means you can use the professional development tools that come with Microsoft Access to customize and extend Census.

Census provides all the tools and features you expect in a professional Defect Tracking System, including "out-of-the-box" customization tools. But when you want more, the powerful programming language - Visual Basic for Applications (VBA), visual screen and report designers, and property sheets of Microsoft Access take you beyond the customization capabilities of any other Defect Tracking System.

Supports Microsoft SQL Server and Microsoft Access

Census Enterprise uses Microsoft SQL Server for the backend database. For organizations requiring a large number of concurrent users, SQL Server provides scalability not available with Microsoft Access.

Census uses a Microsoft Access database for the backend database. Census is ideal for organizations who do not expect to have more than 15-20 concurrent users logged on.

Census Enterprise includes a feature to automatically convert Access-based projects to SQL Server projects.

Aside from some administration feature differences, Census and Census Enterprise include the same functionality.
