Account Manager
Job Description
The Account Manager is responsible
for selling MetaQuest's products,
which are highly customizable and
require a good understanding of software development and technical support processes.
The Account Manager's activities include generating prospective customers
through cold-calling, qualifying leads, and responding to incoming sales
calls and emails.
The Account Manager will give presentations of a technical product line
consisting of software tools that are used by software development and
technical support organizations. Presentations may be given over the
telephone or face to face with prospects and clients.
The ideal candidate should have some experience working with software
developers and/or support desks, and proven experience dealing with the
technical community. The candidate must have the proven experience selling
technical solutions, selling concepts, and dealing with sales cycles involving
multiple decision-makers.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Cold Call new prospects and open new accounts;
- Develop lists of prospects with identified interest;
- Manage complex sales process and interact with decision-makers at multiple levels;
- Respond to inbound telemarketing inquiries;
- Demonstrate software, deliver sales and technical presentations;
- Manage customer evaluation process;
- Manage customer relationships and ensure that customer service issues are
resolved before relationships are effected;
- Keep up-to-date on the industry, customer support issues, competitive products,
and trends in technology;
- Prepare and keep up-to-date activity reports.
Prerequisites:
- Must be a proven salesperson! (proven record of closing sales.)
- Good people-skills (articulate, assertive, patient);
- Two to four plus years experience in technical software sales;
- Able to work independently;
- Able to prioritize multiple tasks;
- Good technical skills (Degree in Computer Science, or Commerce, or related field,
or equivalent experience);
- Able to explain an API product (development product);
- Experience with Windows OS (Windows 95, Windows 99, Windows 2000 and Windows NT);
- Familiar with related products, such as call management systems, client-server software,
databases (ODBC, SQL Server, Oracle), setup and configuration software;
- Familiar with Internet technologies;
- Fluent in the English language with demonstrated verbal and written
communication and presentation skills;
- Self-motivated, confident, an independent thinker, and have initiative to learn;
- Able to travel.
