Triage

Automated Diagnostics

  • Collect diagnostics on:
    • System Resources, Operating System, Files (.dll, .exe, ...), ActiveX Controls, Shortcuts, Environment variables, Registry entries
    • User and product information (name, e-mail, product id, ...)
    • File, registry, and share security info
  • Take copies of files (text or binary)
  • Audit network drives and CD-ROM drives

Customized Diagnostics

  • Build custom application profiles that specify what diagnostic information to collect
  • Auto Build feature makes it easy to build profiles:
    • Generate profiles for installed applications
    • Generate profiles from common install packages (InstallShield, InstallShieldExpress, Windows Installer, Visual Basic projects, Wise Installer)
  • Predefined templates for collecting information about common system components (HTML Help, MFC, ODBC, ODBC DAO)
  • Create custom templates for shared application components
  • Add files to profile using regular expressions (e.g. "^mfc.*\.dll".)
  • Automatically build list of dependent DLLs
  • Define variables to represent values in the Registry and INI files on user's machine, or values entered by user prior to audit

Self-Repair

  • Automatically fix problems with files, ActiveX controls, shortcuts, environment variables, and registry entries
  • Define if ... else rules with logical conditions
  • Possible repair actions include Fix it, Display Message, Rename it, Unregister it, Delete it, and Goto URL
  • Fix it can download files, register controls, update shortcuts, environment variables, and registry entries
  • Fixes can be downloaded from an archive self-repair package (a .zip file)
  • Generate self-repair rules that define how to fix problems, and the self-repair package containing the files required to fix problems.
  • Fix can be applied automatically or by user
  • User can test and undo fixes from Triage Client

Application Snapshot

  • Agent program (Triage Client) can take an application snapshot. This snapshot can be used to restore the application to a working configuration.

Web Publishing

  • Web publishing - post audit reports to your Web server via FTP or HTTP

Internet Information Server
