Application Usage Monitoring
Vector Software Metering provides accurate application usage information for everyone interested in your organization's software assets. A high polling frequency traps the fine detail of application use, while data consolidation provides management access to high level information.

Vector Software Metering makes the distinction between an application that is the active window and any other applications which are not in focus. This avoids distorted usage information in situations when applications are launched, but spend most of the time minimized in the task bar.

Because of the pressure on system and asset managers' time, metering analysis is tailored by excluding selected directories and applications. This minimizes noise and filters out unimportant information.

Powerful Management Reporting
Vector Software Metering features a two-stage data collation and summarizing process. Multiple Schedulers enable Enterprise to distribute the processing and analysis work and to automatically purge obsolete data.

Scaleable, Distributed Architecture
Vector Software Metering provides standard reports highlighting application usage details, and drill-down reports highlighting the location of unused copies. All reports are exportable making advanced management information available to decision makers.

Application usage information generated by Enterprise Software Metering is used within the Inventory module's Package Policy Manager (PPM) to reveal critical applications that are not running as expected. For example, the combination of PPM, Inventory and Software Metering can alert you when a virus scanner is not installed, or not running. Similarly, when PPM detects unauthorized installations of a package, Software Metering can assess the actual usage. An important detail when deciding whether to extend policy definitions to more PCs, or to uninstall the package.

Non-intrusive Monitoring
Software Metering provides information on the use of applications on each Client PC. No set-up is required - polling frequency and other parameters are pre-configured in the metering client before rollout. The application has been designed to collect only raw usage data. Processing and analysis is performed centrally, minimizing the use of local resources and ensuring no appreciable difference to the PC user.

Software Metering does not limit concurrent use by obstructing application usage. Together with the Package Policy Manager, it provides you with the information you need to maximize the effectiveness of the licenses you have purchased.
