Support and Upgrade

Warning Editing tables in the Census databases may cause serious problems that may require you to reinstall Census. MetaQuest does not recommend editing database tables without guidance from MetaQuest technical support, and we cannot guarantee that we can solve problems that may result. Support to recover databases that have been manually edited is not covered under our support plans. Please do not edit database tables on your own.

Evaluation Support

To help you evaluate Census, MetaQuest provides free technical support during the evaluation period. If you need technical assistance installing Census or evaluating Census features, please contact your Census account manager to arrange support assistance. If you do not have an account manager, contact sales@metaquest.com.

Please note that Enterprise Support customers are given priority.

Power customizations not supported
Free evaluation support does not cover power customizations. Power customizations involve using the Microsoft Access development environment, Visual Basic, Javascript, and other advanced techniques to customize Census.


Free Support/Upgrade Plan

Online Knowledge Base
All customers have access to our online knowledge base, which provides how-to instructions and information on known problems and workarounds.

Minor Upgrades
All customers receive free minor upgrades of MetaQuest products. Minor upgrades are available for download from our Web site. Minor upgrades primarily include bug fixes. Some enhancements may also be included in a minor upgrade.


Premium Support and Upgrade Plan

The Enterprise Premium Support and Upgrade Plan is designed to provide you with priority technical support and significant cost savings on major upgrades. It is the most cost-effective way to ensure that you always have access to the highest level of technical support and to the latest major releases of our products.

Important For Enterprise Support, you must be running the latest version of Census. MetaQuest technical support staff will be happy to help you upgrade to the latest version.

Telephone and E-mail Technical Support
You receive unlimited free technical support. Our current hours for telephone technical support are from 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM Eastern Standard Time, Monday through Friday (holidays excluded).

Telephone support is intended to cover problems encountered during the usual day-to-day operations of our products and emergency situations. We will sometimes try to assist you with problems not directly related to our products. (We cannot use telephone support to provide training sessions or custom programming.)

Does not include power customizations
Technical support for power customizations is fee-based and per-incident. Power customizations involve using the Microsoft Access development environment, Visual Basic, Javascript, and other advanced techniques to customize Census.

Major Upgrades
With the Enterprise Support/Upgrade plan, you will have access to the latest major upgrades of our products. Major upgrades are available for download from our Web site.

Major upgrades include bug fixes as well as significant enhancements in functionality.

Two Free Incidents via E-mail
