MetaQuest's Census 7 Provides Significant New Features With a Focus On Improving Productivity

—Census v7.0 Extends User Authentication to Windows Domain and Active Directory —

Montreal, Quebec - 15 November 2005—MetaQuest Software Inc. announced today the release of Census v7.0, the most significant release in several years of the company's award-winning issue tracking and bug tracking software.

"Census v7.0 is our largest functional release in several years. All the enhancements included in this release have come directly from customer feedback with a focus on productivity," said Erick Yanez, Vice-president Research and Development. "When it comes to improving productivity, there is something for all classes of Census users. Whether you are a Census administrator who needs to set up Census to reflect a defined business process, a manager who needs an issue/bug tracking system that provides insight into the health of a project, a QA analyst who needs to report bugs or a customer looking for information on an issue, Census v7.0 has something for everyone."

Responding to the growing need for increased security and centralized management, Census v7.0 allows users to log on using their Windows Domain or Active Directory account. Census continues to support its own security, which is ideal for external users who typically do not have an account in the company's Windows Domain or Active Directory.

Additional enhancements to Census v7.0 include e-mail submission, a requirements specification template, user-defined queries, an enhanced textual search, and a timeout alert. Users of Census v7.0 also now have the ability to associate issues to a master or parent issue, control the visibility of users and contacts on a per-project basis, to e-mail users from within Census views, Web-based administration of user accounts, global choice lists, workflow enhancements, and to log off single users. Users can create knowledge-base articles such as workarounds for bugs and FAQs.

About Census Bug Tracking Software
Census is a Web-based issue tracking and bug tracking software that allows you to manage issues such as bugs, defects, support calls, and enhancement requests. Census provides an innovative Web-based interface that behaves like a Windows application.

Census includes role-based workflow rules and a Web-based workflow rule editor, automatic e-mail notifications, Web-based access to Visual SourceSafe projects, and Web-based reporting powered by Crystal Reports. Census can be extensively customized through point-and-click editors, which allow you to define workflow rules, customize fields, and create custom Web views for specific groups of users. More advanced customizations, such as adding custom behaviors and branding the user interface, can be accomplished using Visual Basic, Javascript, DHTML, and CSS.
